Now I'm going to have to try this! :] Those pop corn poppers that just have a wire that stir kernels might work really good as well, but doing it over a fire is neater.

A friend recently showed me how to roast coffee using a simple hot air popcorn popper. It took four or five minutes to perfectly roast about a cup of green beans. I was quite impressed -- and I saw a popper identical to his at a local thrift store for $4.00 (he splurged $14 for his at WallyMart).

The mighty skillet! When you mentioned to me that you were going to be attempting this roasting method I was really excited to hear about your results.

I think you made the right choice be opting to use the skillet that you did, the heat was no doubt a lot more uniform that you might have been able to maintain with a lighter pan.

Taste is always the determining factor, I look forward to trying some of these beans of your soon!
